ABlyft
Conversion Expert GmbH · Germany · since 2018
Small German A/B testing platform built for developers and experienced testing teams: code-first experiment building, no personal data stored, hosting in Germany, and pricing that is quoted rather than published.
Best for Developer teams that would rather store nothing than configure consent
The verdict
ABlyft takes the privacy criterion in six of its seven matchups, no personal data stored at all, no IP, no user ID, German hosting and a self-hostable snippet, and it draws that criterion with Varify. Its one win is against Optimizely, where a genuine free plan and ad-blocker-proof server-side Shopify order tracking outweigh a snippet that cannot run on checkout. Everywhere else the breadth criterion sinks it: no feature flags, no personalization, and server-side testing still in closed beta. It finishes level with AB Tasty on score and behind it on their direct matchup.

Strengths
- A genuine free tier with no credit card and no sales call, almost no competitor in this class lets you run real experiments before talking to anyone.
- Strictest privacy posture of the German tools: no personal data, no IP, no user ID; self-hostable snippet; bring-your-own-tracker so no event data reaches ABlyft at all.
- Built for developers: Git-versioned snippets, auto-minification, a real debug mode, staging environments and project-level prerequisite rules.
- Reliable Shopify revenue tracking via server-side webhook, immune to ad blockers and missing consent, a real accuracy edge over pixel-only tracking.
- Lightweight: 13 KB snippet on CloudFront, ~30 ms load; highest DACH user rating in this set (4.9/5 from 112 OMR reviews).
Weaknesses
- No public pricing at all, every paid deployment starts with a quote.
- Very small vendor: 2–10 employees, run by the same team as the conversion.expert agency, real continuity risk for enterprise buyers.
- Server-side experimentation and feature flags are in closed beta ("contact us before you start implementing").
- No sequential testing and no sample-size or duration calculator.
- No Shopify app and no checkout-UI testing; no documented Shopware or Magento integrations.
- Thin public surface: minimal visual-editor docs, no public changelog, no published SOC 2/ISO 27001, no downloadable DPA.
The facts
| Statistics | Frequentist and Bayesian, selectable per experiment, with a configurable certainty level (50–99.9%) and a minimum-conversions threshold. No sequential testing and no sample-size calculator. |
| Shopify | No Shopify App Store app. Integration is snippet plus documented tracking wiring: a server-side order webhook (immune to ad blockers and missing consent) and/or the Customer Event Pixel. No checkout-UI testing. |
| Privacy & hosting | The strictest privacy posture in this comparison: no personal data stored at all, no IP, no user ID. German hosting, localStorage instead of cookies, self-hostable snippet, bring-your-own-tracker option. No SOC 2 or ISO 27001 claimed. |
| Pricing | A genuine free plan (no credit card, no sales call) plus a quoted paid plan billed by tested users. No public numbers. |
